More and more clinicians are being asked to navigate community trauma. Without tools, strategies and skills to manage community trauma what is a clinician to do? Future traumatic events are impossible to predict but they seem to be occurring at an alarming rate. How prepared are you or is your community?

Tisa McGhee, MA, MSW, Ph.D., has over 20 years of experience working in urban communities like Los Angeles and Miami as a social worker and a consultant. Her research is community based with a focus on both macro and clinical social work practice. She teaches Social Work Practice, Research, Policy, Human Behavior, Seminar and Domestic Violence courses.
Her professional interests have included her work in child welfare, working with families in crisis and domestic/family violence. Dr. McGhee degrees include a both a BA and MA in Psychology, MSW and PhD with a concentration in macro organizational capacity in Social Work.
