Module 1: Neurodynamic Mobilization Upper Body

- Construct an impairment-based and functionally focused examination for persons with lower extremity neuropathy of any origin.
- Create an evidence-based intervention program including a home program addressing the needs of individuals with lower extremity neuropathy.
- Analyze current and future interventions for neuropathy.
- Develop an evidence-based treatment program managing the controllable variables influencing neuropathic pain.
- Investigate the impact of neuropathy in balance and the relationship to performance of occupational tasks.
- Distinguish fact from fiction regarding prognosis of intervention for neuropathy in relation to impact on ADLs.
- Investigate adverse peripheral neural tension impairments of the lower extremity UE/LE.
- Appraise provocative tests to identify mobility impairments related to adverse neural tension in the UE/LE.
- Apply neurodynamic mobilization techniques to manage mobility impairments for ilioinguinal, sciatic, femoral and saphenous nerves using manual or instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization and neural stretch techniques.
- Apply neurodynamic mobilization techniques to manage mobility impairments for median, musculocutaneous, ulnar and radial nerves using manual or instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization
- Develop a home exercise program to manage adverse neural tension.
- Assess and document effectiveness of the neurodynamic approach to adverse neural tension disorders.
- Investigate current literature related to the effectiveness of neurodynamic therapy for mobility impairments of the UE/LE.
