Brains of Fire: Current State of Mental Health and Integrative Treatments for Anxiety and Depression
Copyright :

Dr. Ackerley will discuss why our current approaches to depression and anxiety are failing our patients. She will present how environmental stressors and biotoxins can trigger neuroinflammation and produce the symptoms found in depression and anxiety and other neuropsychiatric illnesses. She provides alternate approaches for treatment and guidance for implementing these approaches into the care you provide.

Mary Ackerley, MD, MD(H), ABIHM

Mary Beth Ackerley, MD, MD(H), ABIHM, is a classically trained board-certified psychiatrist. She is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Harvard University (BA), studied at NIMH, finished her residency at Johns Hopkins and was certified in psychiatry and Neurology. She is the past president and co-founder of ISEAI. Her skills include the ability to manage cognitive and psychiatric symptoms often found in complex chronic illness. It is her hope that understanding the neuro-inflammatory biotoxin link to psychiatry may bring greater improvements in research, diagnosis, and treatment in the future. Dr. Ackerley holds active medical licenses in Arizona, Florida and California. Her practice, My Passion 4 Health, is based in Tucson, AZ.
