Target Audience

  1. Determine three laboratory values associated with HELLP Syndrome.
  2. Characterize two changes in pregnancy that affect the cardiac system.
  3. Develop a plan of care for a laboring patient with HIV.
  4. Evaluate the risks and benefits of internal electronic fetal monitoring.
  5. Prioritize three interventions for a category II or category III fetal heart tracing.
  6. Recommend methods that decrease the complications of a forceps delivery.
  7. Anticipate critical interventions to decrease complications for the neonate and mother related to shoulder dystocia.
  8. Evaluate the various treatment options for the obstetrical patient with severe hypertension.
  9. Characterize two maternal and two neonatal complications resulting from chorioamnionitis.
  10. Specify three cardiovascular changes that take place with the neonate’s transition to extrauterine life.
  11. Analyze the physiology that places the infant of a diabetic mother at risk for hypoglycemia.
  12. Determine the possible causes of postpartum hemorrhage and appropriate management for each.
