A diagnosis of MS or Parkinson’s Disease can be devastating. Your patients will immediately look for answers and any opportunity to maintain their independence. You feel their desperation and the responsibility to provide all you can to help them hold onto the life they know. This may even lead you to start questioning yourself… What is the best treatment strategy? How do I determine how hard to push during sessions to enable progress without exacerbating symptoms? How can I successfully produce objective data to justify ongoing long-term treatment?
This training will provide the answers to all those questions and more! You will get:
You will be able to confidently design a plan of care that is more than simple single plane ROM with resistance by shifting to multiplanar dynamic functionally linked activity. Through a detailed assessment, you will identify specific functional tasks to structure therapeutic interventions. With goals of weight shift, core activation, overhead ROM, increased trunk extension, eccentric emphasis of UE motion, etc., you will learn how to address the aforementioned components in a meaningful activity for your patient that is fun and inspiring — like casting a fishing pole! You will leave this training energized, inspired, and armed with an expanded skillset to more effectively serve your patients in the clinic the next day.
