Amy Hite, DNP, APRN, FNP-C Related seminars and products


Amy Hite, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, graduated from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kansas, in 1996 with a BSN and in 2000 with an MSN Family Nurse Practitioner degree. She is certified as FNP by AANP and ANCC, certified in Orthopedics by the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses, and completed the Doctorate of Nursing Practice with an emphasis in Advanced Practice from the University of Kansas School of Nursing, May 2011.

Her current position is Assistant Professor at the Pittsburg State University, Department of Nursing. She is employed part time at PSU Student Health Services, specializing in orthopedic patients and primary care. Amy also does Legal Nurse Consultanting. 

She has experience in Med-Surg nursing, OR, ED, rehab, urgent care, skilled care, college health and private orthopedic practice. Her subspecialty interests are female musculoskeletal health, osteoporosis, female athletes and preventive health care. She has worked with college and high school athletes.

Amy has published and presented regionally and at national conferences on Anesthesia for Outpatients, Herbal Therapies and Surgical Patients,the Sports Medicine Chapter of the Orthopedic Nursing Secrets Book, Osteoporosis, and the Female Athlete Triad.

Her current/past offices include: Special Interest Group Facilitator for Sports Medicine for the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses (NAON) and NAON Education Committee and representative to the Female Athlete Triad Coalition. Amy is a member of the American Nurses Association and AANP, Kansas State Nurses Association; she is the District 20 KSNA Treasurer, 4 State APN President, and a member of the PSU Alumni Association Crawford County Chapter Board.
