Description

The time you spend with your patients is very limited. Yet during the interactions, it is critical to adequately cover the concerns and complaints of your geriatric patients. Tap into expert level skills to really hear your patients, seek further clarification, and critically think through each comprehensive scenario that comes your way.

Some healthcare providers are tricked by atypical presentations of diseases and misdiagnose a condition. Others feel overwhelmed by the number of medications a patient is taking. This advanced one-day event will provide you with the necessary tools to address uncomfortable topics, streamline patient encounters with new tools, and create lasting treatment plans. A few of the topics covered include:

  • Detect the risk factors for adverse drug reactions
  • Master the overactive bladder diagnosis
  • Hyper-acute care standards
  • Apply five key principles for deprescribing medications
  • Create a corrective sleep plan of action combining medications and behavioral strategies
  • Use evidence-based assessments to identify mental health issues with physical consequences
  • Includes 2.0 Pharmacology CE hours!

Susann Verano, MD, will take your knowledge to the next level when addressing complex geriatric pharmacology, with patient compliance in mind. Dr. Varano is double board certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine. In addition to recognition as a top geriatric clinician, she is also actively involved in clinical research for this population. Register today to more accurately diagnose, manage and confidently care for your older patients.
