Grief can be an unpredictable shock to clients attachment system, causing them to become dysregulated or shut down in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead.

Most therapeutic approaches focus on creating a supportive space and provide some basic suggestions for coping, leaving both you and your clients feeling like progress is painfully slow, if progress is even being made.

But what if you could help your clients shift into a state of emotional balance that allows them to process their grief, relieve emotional pain and find meaning in their lives again from their very first session. That's what Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) is designed to do.

Rooted in attachment theory, EFIT offers a dependable map you can use to tune into your clients' emotions as they grapple with the impact of loss.

And on May 19, 2022, you can join EFIT developer Dr. Sue Johnson and ICEEFT (International Centre for Excellent in EFT) certified trainer Dr. Leanne Campbell for a 1-day workshop designed to give you a proven blueprint to use with your clients struggling with loss.

You'll leave this workshop ready to:
  • Conduct process-oriented assessments that frame grief from an attachment perspective
  • Utilize a proven set of macro and micro interventions that respond to the core longings, needs, and vulnerabilities your grieving clients are experiencing
  • Resolve symptoms, transform trauma, and move clients into the type of full, flexible aliveness that promotes resilience and growth
  • And so much more!

What You'll Learn

In this 1-day workshop, you'll learn how to use the EFIT approach to shape transformational emotional moments for your clients in every session.

This training is broken into 3 key areas:

Attachment Science and Grief: The model known for love also deals with loss
You'll start off learning how love and loss impact attachment and the key role of resilience in the healthy processing of grief. You'll even learn how specific types of losses – including anticipatory and traumatic losses – impact clients differently.

The EFIT Guide to Early Sessions: Making assessments process-oriented and therapeutic
In this section, you'll discover how to create an immediate alliance with your grieving clients whose attachment systems have been disrupted. You'll leave with a clear guide for how to identify and respond to threats to attachment reorganization, plus key questions to illuminate attachment history. And you'll learn how to implement the CARE model to conceptualize loss experiences within your client's attachment history.

Stabilization, Restructuring, and Consolidation: EFIT stages and steps
Learn the ins and outs of the EFT Tango and how it seamlessly guides your moment-to-moment therapeutic decisions with your individual clients who are grieving. You'll develop skills in creating imaginal encounters for grieving clients to evoke adaptive emotion and facilitate self-compassion.

Packed with case studies, step-by-step processes, and transformational insight, this one-day training allows you to use attachment theory to help your clients move through their grief.

Designed for Counselors, Psychologists, Psychotherapists, Social Workers, Marriage & Family Therapists, Addiction Counselors, Case Managers, Psychiatrists, and other Mental Health Professionals, you'll walk away with real, practical strategies and techniques you can use to help your clients move through their grief.

And it's all led by…
