ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Sheria Grice Robinson, RN, MSN, MHA, CHPN, is the owner and principle nurse consultant of SGR Consulting, an organization that provides gerontological health education and expert witness testimony in matters of elder care. Sheria has spent many years working with elders in the long-term care and hospice settings in roles ranging from Nursing Assistant to Director of Nursing. She currently serves as a task force member for the long-term care pain resource website www.geriatricpain.org and the American Medical Directors Association’s (AMDA) task force on Young Adults in Long Term Care.

Clinically, Sheria maintains practice as a Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse, with Hospice of Michigan—one of the nation’s largest non-profit hospices. In addition to caring for hospice patients at Hospice of Michigan, Sheria helps to coordinate the research activities of the hospice and aids in both the development and facilitation of staff education.

Sheria is also a doctoral candidate attending Wayne State University, where she is completing a dual degree in Nursing and Gerontology. At Wayne State, Sheria serves as the President of the International Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau - Lambda Chapter and the chairperson of the Doctoral Student Forum. Sheria is passionate about pain management and elder care and gives much of her time advocating for, educating about, and singing the praises of elders.

Sheria G.
