Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidenced-based treatment that prioritizes and targets self-harm and suicidality. It has successfully been adapted for other behavioral issues that impact the lives of adolescents and their families, including:
Through the use of vignettes, case examples and clinical anecdotes, Pat Harvey and Britt Rathbone will teach you how to use DBT protocols, analysis and skills training to work with at-risk adolescents. Attend this seminar and become orientated to DBT philosophy and concepts. Develop the skills needed to structure and develop individual treatment sessions, DBT skills training and parent interventions. Learn how to prioritize treatment targets, use behavior analysis and daily logs to focus on how to use skills training as an essential part of treatment. Teach parents the tools and skills needed to maintain treatment at home.
This seminar will fill the void by presenting specific proven techniques for working with adolescents who are most at-risk because of their emotion dysregulation. Leave with skills and knowledge that can enhance, and increase the effectiveness of your treatment of your most challenging adolescents and their parents.
