This risk is compounded by age-related changes in physiology and body composition, which influences drug response. Additionally, evidence suggests that inappropriate prescribing (IP) is highly prevalent in older people and is associated with an increased risk of ADEs, increased morbidity, mortality and healthcare utilization.
