This training will explore relational patterns in adult intimate relationships. We will identify the differences between love addiction and love avoidance, and how the impact of family of origin trauma manifests in adult intimate relationships. We will explore both, love addiction and love avoidant cycles and how they are attracted to one another. Treatment of love addiction and love avoidance will be discussed.
Charmaine D. Kemp, LMSW, M.Ed., CSAT, PhD(c), has extensive experience in the field of behavioral health in inpatient and outpatient settings specializing in trauma, relational issues, and chemical and process addictions. She worked as a primary therapist at Gentle Path at The Meadows prior to transferring to the Rio Retreat Center. At Rio Retreat, she facilitates multiple workshops including Healing Intimate Treason, Social Work and Human Sexuality. She is also pursuing a doctoral degree in the field of Human Sexuality. In her current role as workshop facilitator, she is able to combine her passion for teaching with clinical therapy.
