Description

Learning differences, cultural differences, developmental differences, and more all affect how children learn best.

By integrating mindfulness into therapy and the classroom, you’ll move away from a one-size fits all approach and discover ways to adapt mindfulness for all learning styles.

Join author, psychologist, and consultant Dr. Christopher Willard in this one-day workshop where he’ll share fun, creative ways to teach mindfulness. Be prepared for an experiential day practicing mindfulness techniques including awareness, movement, games, play, and creative/expressive activities that can be practiced by young people and adults alike.

You’ll learn:

  • Proven techniques for depression, ADHD, anxiety, anger, acting out, trauma, and more
  • Mood boosters for depression such as mindful walking, yoga, and qi-gong
  • Playful “alphabreaths” to self-regulate emotions, attention, and behavior
  • Simple practices for ADHD, executive function and impulse control disorders: “the mindful SEAT” “mindful play and games” “mindful music”, and more
  • Skills to soothe trauma and anxiety: “seeking stillness,” “touchpoints,” and “four elements” practices will be taught and practiced as a group
  • Skills that build emotional and social intelligence: mindfulness of music, listening and body awareness exercises

Practices will engage different learning styles through arts, sports, games, music, technology, and more, for attention spans ranging from 30 seconds to 30 minutes.

Mindfulness is more than just breathing, and so is this workshop! Register Now!
