Are you living a life dominated by your unhealthy habits? Are you sick and tired of feeling trapped in a cycle of compulsive behaviors that are not serving you?
If you have a nagging voice in your head saying enough is enough, this book is for you.
It’s easy to fall victim to behaviors that allow us to temporarily check out of our lives, distract us from our stressors and problems, and numb painful and uncomfortable emotions—behaviors like gambling, binge eating, shopping, nonstop scrolling on social media, gaming, pornography, and many more. Left unchecked, these vices can become harmful habits with devastating consequences.
In The ACT Workbook for Behavioral Addictions, you’ll find the tools you need to understand the “why” behind these behaviors, break bad patterns, and put an end to the cycle that always ends with shame and regret. Written from the lens of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), this book provides a shame-free approach that therapists use to help people get “unstuck” in their lives. It provides actionable exercises to help you take back control of your life and make choices that move you closer to your values, goals, and dreams, even in the face of discomfort.
Whether you are a therapist supporting someone in the throes of behavioral addiction or are struggling with these issues yourself, let this book be your guide to building the life you deserve.
