HOW THE 6-MONTH TRAINING WORKS

Deb's training is divided into five comprehensive training modules with over 49 hours of LIVE training, LIVE Q&As, recorded lectures, readings, plus, hands-on large and small group work.

Upon registration, the training will kick off with preliminary self-study content from Deb. Then on February 1, the self-study component for Module 1 will be available in your portal. On February 18, we come together for the first live virtual training. Subsequent self-study modules with Deb will be available in your portal after each virtual live training module.

As you move through the program, Deb's senior trainers and consultants will walk alongside you through live trainings, experiential and consultation sessions—module by module—to bring the theory to life in their teaching, practices and in the way they navigate the world.

In addition to Deb's presence throughout the training through the recorded content, Deb will offer two 90-minute Q&A sessions during the series. Along with reviewing the written and recorded material, you will be asked to complete practice assignments between training dates to gain confidence and expertise.

You'll also get lifetime access to Deb's comprehensive training materials, including her recorded sessions, slides, handouts, and exercises she's developed to add to your clinical toolbox and use with your clients.

Introduction and Orientation to Foundations of Polyvagal Informed Practice Training Series
In this session, we'll begin the paradigm shift to looking through the lens of the nervous system and to embody the practices. You'll learn how the structure of the training supports the dual focus of getting to know your own nervous system and bringing a polyvagal approach to clinical work. Meet the Course Experts:

Deb Dana
Deb Dana, LCSW, is a clinician, consultant, and author specializing in using the lens of Polyvagal Theory to understand and resolve the impact of trauma and create ways of working that honor the role of the autonomic nervous system. She developed the Rhythm of Regulation Clinical Training Series and lectures internationally on ways Polyvagal Theory informs clinical work. She is trained in Internal Family Systems, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Tapas Acupressure Technique, and completed the Certificate Program in Traumatic Stress Studies at the Trauma Center.

Deb is a founding member of the Polyvagal Institute, clinical advisor to Khiron Clinics, and an advisor to Unyte. She is the author of The Polyvagal Theory in Therapy: Engaging the Rhythm of Regulation (Norton, 2018), Polyvagal Exercises for Safety and Connection: 50 Client-Centered Practices (Norton, 2020), Befriending Your Nervous System (Sounds True, 2020), Anchored: How to Befriend Your Nervous System Using Polyvagal Theory, co-editor of Clinical Applications of the Polyvagal Theory: The Emergence of Polyvagal-Informed Therapies (Norton 2018), and creator of the Polyvagal Flip Chart (Norton, 2020).

Courtney Rolfe

Courtney Rolfe, MA, LCPC, is a licensed psychotherapist in Chicago, Illinois. She is the founder of Modern Mind & Heart (formerly Modern Mind Counseling), which provides individual counseling, clinical consultation, and training with the specialized focus on application of Polyvagal Theory. She has a long history of working with trauma, both in private practice and in various social service organizations serving marginalized communities.

Courtney is a senior trainer in Deb Dana's Rhythm of Regulation training series. She has led several training cohorts through the Rhythm of Regulation's intensive 6 month “Foundations of Polyvagal Theory in Practice” course, and is excited to continue this work with future groups. Courtney is enthusiastic about bringing the Polyvagal Theory to clients and clinicians alike. Prior to discovering the Polyvagal Theory, Courtney has a foundation in using mindfulness, interpersonal neurobiology, and body-based practices to help clients heal.

Dara Denton

Dara Denton, MA, LCPC, LPCC, is a licensed counselor with experience providing individualized care to those facing a variety of life stressors and mental health issues. Over the years, she has worked with clients of diverse backgrounds, and in various settings from prisons to private practice. This has included work with those who are motivated to be in therapy, as well as individuals who were reluctant to trust the process. It taught her much about the human experience. While no one is immune to suffering, it is in the safety of human connection that we can heal and find happiness.

Dara is a senior trainer in Deb Dana's Rhythm of Regulation training series. As a therapist, Dara is committed to empowering clients to improve their relationships, recover from trauma, and cope with the stress of life. She utilizes Polyvagal Theory, ACT, mindfulness, and other skills-based interventions to support learning, symptom management, and behavioral change. Dara believes in the necessity of evidence-based practices and therefore continually receives training and education on best practices for treating trauma and mood disorders.
