No one ever said that working with children with autism, ADHD or sensory disorders is easy.
Struggles with transitions, seemingly disproportionate responses to “small” problems, difficulty staying on task even for short periods of time, work refusal...the list goes on.
But how do we help children break through the self-regulation issues that limit their achievements?
This may be a simple question, but the answer is very complex!
Join Dr Sheetal Parikh, occupational therapist with advanced training in sensory integration, yoga, autism, and ADHD, who will guide you through a broad set of self-regulation interventions culled from her years of research and practice along with tips for adapting them to your setting. You will leave with the essential skills, interventions, and strategies to help children find harmony with themselves, their families, and the world around them!
You will learn:
- Must-use sensory, self-regulation, and behavioral techniques for regulation in any setting
- Team-based approaches for the classroom, clinic, and home
- Effective interventions for challenges with sleep, mealtime, and repetitive and restrictive behaviors
- Social skill interventions to help children and teens get past peer rejection and find acceptance and friendship
