Alison Hennes, RN, MSN, PHN, CWCN, WCC, CFCN
Alison C. Hennes is an independent Wound Care Consultant (WOCN) with 18 years of nursing experience. As a wound care specialist, she consults with home health, hospice, skilled nursing and hospital facilities in the Southern California area. Additionally, she provides evidence-based education to nurses and allied healthcare professionals in the acute, chronic and palliative care settings as a WOCN speaker for a nationally-recognized company. Alison's diverse nursing background as an education manager, specialist in acute and chronic wound care, hospice and palliative care director, home health and hospice WOCN, public health nurse, medical-surgical care nurse and rural nursing and parish nurse affords her insight into the wound care challenges nurses face in their practices. She promotes patient teaching and advocacy, and no cost information and resources to facilitate healthcare access for wounds, foot care and ostomy needs. Alison makes herself available as a nurse mentor, to promote safe and effective wound and foot care to any nurse interested in furthering their learning.
Alison completed her WOC Specialty at MD Anderson in Texas. She completed her Wound Care Certification through the National Alliance of Wound Care, Certification in Continence Care (CCCN) and Foot Care (CFCN) through the WOCN. A dedicated educator, Alison has served as an adjunct nurse faculty member for RN (ADN), Vocational Nurse (VN) and Certified Nursing Assistant Programs. She has written a Health Education Manual to promote awareness, community health teaching and family life education for elementary school children.
