Catherine Harris, MSN, MBA, APN-BC, CNRN


Catherine Harris is an assistant professor of graduate programs at Jefferson School of Nursing. She is also an advanced nurse practitioner in neurosurgery with expertise in neurological critical care and the management of acute stroke patients. She works at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and its affiliate regional stroke centers. Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (TJUH) is a leader in comprehensive stroke care and cerebrovascular diseases.

Catherine completed her PhD in Nursing in 2011 from the University of Pennsylvania with a focus on cerebrovascular injury. She obtained a Master's of Science in Nursing from Rutgers in 2005. She is a board certified Nurse Practitioner in Adult Health and Acute Care, a Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse and a Registered Nurse First Assist in the operating room with a focus on neurosurgery. Catherine has authored several nursing publications and has spoken extensively both nationally and internationally on topics of intracranial hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage and stroke. She is an active member of the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Neurocritical Care Society.
