Derek Mihalcin, PhD, BCBA-D, is a licensed psychologist; a Board Certified Behavior Analyst – Doctoral; a Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst; and a Pennsylvania Licensed Behavior Specialist who has been working in the mental health field for 15 years. He works directly with many clients, families, and teachers in successfully improving behaviors of children, adolescents, and adults using evidencebased Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment strategies. Dr. Mihalcin has extensive experience working with clients with a wide range of diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, AD HD, ODD, anxiety and depression. As a psychologist and a behavior analyst, he developed an autism services program that includes diagnosis and treatment of autism at Oakwood Counseling Center, Inc., in Warren, Ohio, where he currently practices.
Dr. Mihalcin is a regular guest speaker on ABA topics at colleges and universities and presented at the Western Regional Tapestry Conference at Slippery Rock University. He is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Ohio Association for Behavior Analysis (OHABA). Dr. Mihalcin has many years of experience as an accreditation manager involved in maintaining compliance with the Joint Commission (JCAHO) regulatory standards. He was a member of the Behavior Support Committee for the Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities in Ohio.
