Jeff Harvey, RN, MS, FD
Jeff Harvey has almost 30 years of clinical nursing experience, ranging from critical care to long term care. He holds a Bachelor's in Nursing, a Masters in Health Science, and an Associate of Applied Science in Funeral Service Education. Having worked for almost 20 years educating nursing students in the clinical and classroom setting on a part-time basis, Jeff is able to provide useful education for the practicing nurse that can be put to immediate use. After the death of his aunt and the closing of the coronary care unit where he was working, he knew that "the time was right" and went back to school to fulfill his life-long dream of becoming a funeral director. While in mortuary school, he (as well as the rest of his nursing colleagues!) was astonished to learn that what nurses do when a death occurs is in direct variation to what the funeral director needs them to do!! Jeff enjoys creating awareness for healthcare professionals around post-mortem care to better the experience for both the healthcare team and the surviving family.
