Jody Hassel, MFA, TCTSY-F
Jody Hassel, MFA, TCTSY-F, founded Blossom House Healing Arts with Kendra Calhoun in 2014 to create access to the arts and healing for youth and adults who are incarcerated, in-custody, in residential treatment facilities, or in substance use recovery. Blossom House is a 501c3 offering programs of trauma sensitive yoga, trauma-informed performing arts, and other wellness modalities. Jody enlists her understanding of personal and community trauma to inform interventions of embodiment in mindful movement, indigenous dance, auto-ethnographic memoir. She is currently developing a trauma-informed healing system of Roots Recovery Embodiment Praxis (RREP): The Ancestral Medicine of Movement, Voice, and Rhythm as an interdisciplinary practice of storytelling, percussion, mindful movement, and ancestral exploration.
