Julie D. Adkison, PharmD, BCACP, CDE


Julie D. Adkison, PharmD, BCACP, CDE, is on the faculty of a family medicine residency program in Houston, Texas and the College of Medicine at Texas A&M Health Science Center. Dr. Adkison has taught family medicine residents the full spectrum of primary care pharmacology for more than 10 years, where her goal is to teach physicians to become experts in medication use. Dr. Adkison led her practice in achieving the NCQA Diabetes Physician Recognition, based on their skill in providing the highest-level of diabetes care. She has completed several research projects and national presentations related to the multidisciplinary approach to diabetes and sustaining quality improvement. Her unique perspective on using appropriate pharmacotherapy to achieve patient outcomes has moved hundreds of poorly controlled patients toward reaching desired targets. Dr. Adkison earned her undergraduate degree at The University of Texas and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Houston.
