Justin Stanek, EdD, ATC, is a certified athletic trainer, athletic training professor, and clinical coordinator at Illinois State University. As a clinician, he has worked with both high school and collegiate athletes in the areas of prevention, emergency care, evaluation, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. He is an active member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association, and Illinois Athletic Trainers’ Association.

Dr. Stanek holds a Doctor of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction, a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Athletic Training. His research focuses on the prevention and care of ankle pathologies in the physically active and the utilization and teaching of evidence-based practice in athletic training education programs. He has authored or co-authored numerous articles appearing in the Journal of Sport Rehabilitation, Electromyography and Clinical Neurophysiology, Journal of Electromyography & Kinesiology, Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, and the Journal of Athletic Training. Justin is passionate about the field of athletic training and strives to share his knowledge through an informative and interactive learning experience.
