Laura Wintersteen-Arleth, RN, MN, CDE


Laura Wintersteen-Arleth has worked with hundreds of patients individually, in group settings and with nursing students to improve outcomes. She has developed diabetes continuing education programs for five years, and was awarded the 2006 International President's Award for Lions Club International for her work in community-related diabetes awareness. She is the Diabetes Awareness Chair for Washington, North Idaho and British Columbia for Lions Club International. Laura has written several grants and developed programs relating to diabetes for the past 13 years.

Laura has a full-time faculty appointment with Washington State University/Intercollegiate College of Nursing. She has directed out-patient diabetes education programs which have received American Diabetes Association (ADA) recognition. She has served as director for various diabetes camps accredited through the American Camping Association. Her focus is to give patients the tools they need to take control of their diabetes and to give professionals new insight they can share with their patients to empower them to take control.
