Leanne Boyer Schimke, MSN, FNP-C, CRNP, CUNP, is a Family Nurse Practitioner with additional certification in urology. She works currently as a urology nurse practitioner at a private urology practice in Pennsylvania. Prior to working full time in urology, she gained valuable experiences working as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Leanne has been an invited speaker on a variety of urology topics, at both national and local levels, presenting at the American College of Nurse Practitioners Annual Conferences, Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates (SUNA) Annual Conferences and Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. Additionally, she is a contributing faculty member teaching SUNA’s Advanced Urology Review Course. Leanne is a very upbeat and passionate speaker, using humor, case studies and practical experience to share her love of urology.
In addition to her speaking, she has been on SUNA’s Annual Conference Planning Committee since 2012. Leanne has published articles on Microscopic Hematuria, DXA scans in men on androgen deprivation therapy and a research article on the Tolerability of Trelstar injections. She was an editor for the urology chapter in the Lippincott Manual of Nursing Practice and is currently editing various chapters in the Core Curriculum for Urological Nursing to be published by SUNA later this year.
