Lisa Kiblinger, RN, MS, CDE


Lisa Kiblinger is currently a Diabetes Education Specialist and Osteoporosis Educator in Atlanta, Georgia and has been a Certified Diabetes Educator since 1997. She works with people with diabetes, osteoporosis and related diseases to help them improve their quality of living and self-efficacy. Lisa teaches individuals, families and groups practical ways of living with diabetes. She also conducts research, interprets statistical outcomes data and has published in peer-review journals. Lisa has contracts with several organizations to teach patients in medical offices and hospitals.

Lisa sits on the Board of Directors of the Greater Atlanta Association of Diabetes Educators (GAADE), the Georgia Hospital Association and a local Rite Aid Pharmacy. She is the immediate Past President of the GAADE, a multidisciplinary organization of healthcare professionals that provides continuing education, and volunteer and networking opportunities to over 200 members. She was the Local Committee Chair for the 2009 American Association of Diabetes Educator's National Meeting. She serves her local American Diabetes Association Chapter (ADA) and presents regularly at Diabetes EXPO and Victory Over Diabetes in Atlanta. As a mentor to other educators, she has helped four diabetes programs achieve ADA recognition. Lisa is concerned about the alarming world-wide increase in pre-diabetes, childhood diabetes and adult diabetes rates. She has prepared this presentation to provide the information necessary to empower healthcare providers to change the future of diabetes care.
