Marc R. Bernier, DPT, MPT, CSCS
Marc R. Bernier, DPT, MPT, CSCS, is the Clinical Director of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation for Encore Rehabilitation at Spain Park High School in Birmingham, Alabama. During the course of his career, Mr. Bernier has taken an active role in the prevention and treatment of injuries in all sports at all ages. He has been identified as an international expert and consultant in the field of soccer-specific sports medicine, having developed rehabilitative and performance enhancement programs for professional soccer players in the United States, South America and Europe, including participants in the FIFA World Cup.
Recently, Mr. Bernier has focused on the development of rehabilitative and injury preventative programs for youth athletes. He is currently serving as the Director of Sports Medicine and Fitness for the Birmingham United Soccer Association, and as the Director of Sports Medicine for the Briarwood Soccer Club. As part of his commitment to providing education on sports medicine issues to parents and coaches, he is also serving as the Sports Medicine and Training Consultant for PhysioRoom.com, and as the Sports Injury Consultant for SoccerSpecific.com. Additionally, he is an Affiliate Member of the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI).
Mr. Bernier served as a national instructor for HealthSouth Corporation as a “Knee and Shoulder Specialist,” and was awarded the 2004 “Educator of the Year” Award. He has also lectured at the Major League Soccer Combine for the Professional Soccer Athletic Trainer’s Society; the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s Annual Convention; and the American Sports Medicine Institute’s “Recent Advances in Rehabilitation” Course.
