Melissa Allen, MSN, NNP-BC, FNP-C, RNC-OB, RNC-MNN, C-EFM
Melissa Allen has a combined 23 years of clinical and instructional experience in all areas of maternal-neonatal nursing. She received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, a Masters of Science, in Nursing (MSN) from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and a postmaster's degree, as a family nurse practitioner, from Middle Tennessee State University.
She has held faculty positions at Motlow State Community College and Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, where she taught maternal-child nursing in the classroom and clinical setting. She now practices as a neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP) for Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She has traveled extensively as an advanced practice nurse and therefore has had the opportunity to work in a variety of maternal-infant environments.
As the creator of Neo-Productions: Maternal Newborn Seminars , Melissa has developed and presented multiple continuing education lectures, for students and staff, across the country. She also maintains her Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and STABLE Program instructor status.
Melissa holds four certifications from NCC. She is certified, as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and as registered nurse, in Inpatient Obstetrics, Maternal-Newborn Nursing, and Electronic Fetal Monitoring. She also holds board certification, as a Family Nurse Practitioner, from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
