Patricia Holland, RN, BSN, CGRN


Patricia Holland has been a gastroenterology nurse for over 30 years; she has been certified in gastroenterology nursing for the past 23 years. Her clinical background includes 12 years of management in The Digestive Disease Center and a biliary lithotripsy clinical trial at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado, as well as the Endoscopy Department at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Pat worked as an industry nurse for nine years, including serving as Director of Clinical Education. Currently, as an independent consultant, Pat develops and administers clinical education programs on topics relevant to gastroenterology and endoscopy.

Pat is a past president of the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) and has served in a variety of positions at both the regional and national levels. She was the recipient of the Society's 1997 Distinguished Service Award and Gastroenterology Nursing's 2001 Clinical Excellence Award. Pat coordinated the production of the SGNA Video, "Reprocessing of Flexible Gastrointestinal Endoscopes." She teaches an annual course on infection prevention in the endoscopy setting.

Pat has authored or coauthored 13 original manuscripts published in Gastroenterology Nursing, Outpatient Surgery and related journals.
