Robert Zucker, LCSW, MA, FT


Robert Zucker, LCSW, MA, FT, is the author of The Journey Through Grief and Loss: Helping Yourself and Your Child When Grief Is Shared (St. Martin's Press, 2009), and also more than 10 Bereavement Care Notes for Abbey Press. A grief counselor and teacher, Rob has provided bereavement seminars and consultation services to more than 20,000 professionals, including a broad range of mental health providers, clergy, and educators.

Rob has been practicing psychotherapy for 30 years and has lead a variety of grief support groups including specialized programs for young widows and widowers, bereaved parents and grandparents, child homicide survivors, bereaved siblings and therapeutic writing workshops for the bereaved. Currently, he is Supervisor of Bereavement Program at the Hospice of the South Shore, Massachusetts. Previously he was a supervisor at Mary Washington Hospice, Virginia.

Teaching is a passion for Rob. In addition to being a long-time CMI speaker, some of his other instructional credentials include Harvard University Medical School Cape Cod Institutes, Smith College School of Social Work Summer Institutes, Antioch University, New England Graduate School, and Dalhousie University School of Social Work, in Halifax, Canada. He is honored to have been designated a Fellow in Thanatology by the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC).
