Sheila L Hoehn, MAN, RN, BC


Sheila L. Hoehn, MAN, RN, BC, has been practicing nursing for 27 years. A certified pain management nurse, she has been a member of an Anesthesia Pain Service since 1999. Sheila has provided pain management in multiple patient care settings including general medical, orthopedic/thoracic/vascular, surgical step down, ICU, trauma step down and nephrology. A dedicated teacher as well as clinician, she holds an academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Nursing for Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. Sheila gives back to her community by teaching nursing clinicals at her local community and technical colleges.

Sheila is a member of the American Society of Pain Management Nurses (ASPMN) and is course coordinator for the Nursing Educational Seminar of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia (ASRA). Focusing on pain management and research has afforded her insight and experiences in acute, surgical and chronic pain issues. She presents on pain management locally, regionally, nationally and internationally with a concentration on chronic, acute and surgical analgesia management. She is very dedicated and concerned with the increasing pain management issues that patients are facing at home and in the hospital setting.
