Shellie Miller Bumgarner, RN, MSN, CEN, EMT, CPEN
Shellie Miller Bumgarner is currently serving as faculty at Lenoir-Rhyne University, where she teaches Pharmacology and serves as an adjunct instructor for Advanced Medical/Surgical Nursing and Pediatrics. She teaches clinical in the areas of Advanced Medical/Surgical, Intensive Care and Pediatrics. Shellie received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Nursing Education from Gardner-Webb University.
Shellie continues to work stretcher-side, where she maintains responsibility for clients in the emergency department whose ages range across the age continuum. Her extensive experience covers from pre-hospital through the emergency department and continues to the inpatient care of adults and children. She is certified in Emergency Nursing and Pediatric Emergency Nursing and is a Certified Emergency Medical Technician.
An active member in the Emergency Nurses Association, Shellie is a faculty member for the Trauma Nurse Core Course and Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course. She serves as Vice-President of the Mu Alpha Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. As a committed member of the Pediatric Trauma Society, Shellie continues to stay up to date on the issues surrounding pediatric trauma.
