Tim Scanlan, MD, MBA

Timothy Scanlan, M.D., MBA, is a Family Physician who is certified in addiction medicine and has spent the last 25 years focusing his clinical work on patients with substance use disorders. He has worked in all levels and types of care, including inpatient and outpatient detox and treatment, methadone maintenance and Suboxone therapy. Dr. Scanlan is the medical director of Addiction Specialists of Kansas, an outpatient treatment facility for alcohol and drug problems, and is medical director for several outpatient and residential publicly-funded chemical dependency programs. He is a consultant to the state treatment authority in Kansas, the Kansas Association of Addiction Professionals and to many mental health provider groups in Kansas.

Dr. Scanlan has also been an invited clinical field reviewer for several of the SAMHSA Treatment Improvement Protocols (TIPs) publications. He is a sought after speaker on addiction topics because of his straight-forward approach to clinical issues. Dr. Scanlan is Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry.
