Tracey Romans, RN, MS, NP-C, is a nurse practitioner at the University of Michigan Hospital Cardiovascular-Thoracic Intensive Care Unit, a center that has high procedure volume in heart and lung transplantation, as well as temporary and long term mechanical circulatory support. Ms. Romans is a member of a multidisciplinary team which manages the immediate post-operative care of this patient population. She has co-authored a chapter on this subject matter in the nursing textbook Cardiac Surgery Essentials for Critical Care Nursing. She completed her undergraduate degree at University of Windsor, Canada and her Masters in Nursing at University of Michigan. She is credentialed as a nurse practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Her acute care background includes emergency medicine, critical care and bone marrow transplantation.
