Amy Van Arsdale, PhD
Amy Van Arsdale, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist with over a decade of experience working with individuals, couples, and groups. In her practice in Washington, DC, Dr. Van Arsdale incorporates CBT and mindfulness approaches with a diverse array of presenting concerns including anxiety, mood disorders, career issues and perinatal mental health. She is a partner in the Washington Psychological Center, PC, one of the longest-established psychology practices in Washington, DC.
Dr. Van Arsdale earned a Ph.D., in Counseling Psychology from the University of Florida. She was trained as a scientist-practitioner and has conducted individual, couples, and group psychotherapy in a variety of settings, including a domestic violence shelter, community mental health center, and university counseling and career centers. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Maryland Career Development Association, and serves on the Maryland Psychological Association’s Public Education Campaign, which aims to educate the public about psychology and health.
