Lorie Ann Brown, JD, MN, RN
Lorie Brown, JD, MN, RN, became a registered nurse in 1982 and has worked in a variety of nursing fields, including medical-surgical nursing, management, and administration. Attorney Brown obtained her law degree in 1990 from Indiana University and then as a nurse attorney, she practiced in medical malpractice defense for the state of Indiana and a private law firm. In 1999, Attorney Brown founded Brown Law Office and began working as a legal nurse consultant and representing nurses and other healthcare providers before the licensing boards. In 2012, she founded EmpoweredNurses.org, an organization designed to help nurses protect their licenses. Attorney Brown is currently on the board of directors for The American Association of Nurse Attorneys. She has been a speaker at many regional and national nursing conferences, is the author of numerous published articles, and has authored several legal nurse consultant books including Shiftless: How to Leave Your Day Job for the Lucrative Career as a Legal Nurse Consultant and The Legal Nurse Consultant’s Workbook: Turning Your Nursing Knowledge into a Successful Consulting Practice. Additionally, Attorney Brown has mentored hundreds of legal nurse consultants to get clients and cases, running LNCRetreat.com, an invitation only yearlong LNC program.
